Are These Genuine Troy Bilt Tines? First I need to start by clearing up a common misconception. Troy-Bilt has never made their tines. Originally they had two vendors that they purchased tines from, one in Canada and one in the US. About fifteen years ago they dropped the Canadian vendor and now buy strictly from the US vendor. Our tines are from the same US vendor. If the tines were shipped to Troy, they would be Troy-Bilt Tines. Our tines are out of the same box, but since they did not ship through Troy-Bilt, WE cannot say they are Troy-Bilt Originals. The RED tines you see are made in Korea. The paint is to protect the steel from the ocean salt during the boat ride. The actual cutting angle of the tine is formed different than Troy-Bilt tines, (and ours) and do not perform as well due to the incorrect angle. The "Three Hole" tines you see offered else where were developed by us several years ago. After testing the tines on a Troy-Bilt, we found that if you encounter rocky soil, they would break around the third hole. When Troy was purchased by MTD, MTD boxed the three hole tines for Lowe’s, because they would fit on a Troy-Bilt and other front tine tillers that MTD sells.
